1. General description

    The European Social Survey (ESS) is a cross-national survey that has been conducted every two years across Europe since 2002. The survey measures attitudes, beliefs and behaviour of European citizens in more than thirty nations. At the same time, the ESS provides data in order to improve the methods of cross-national survey measurement in Europe and beyond.
